Echoing the spirit of Neil Young and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Andy writes simple folk songs with his heart on his sleeve and words from a bared soul. This is evident in the stripped back arrangements of tracks such as ‘My Fathers Son’ and ‘What I’m Told’, the fragility in his voice and guitar allow the songs to breathe, with no overblown arrangements to mask the sentiment.
When he played at Treefest, Andy was touring with three piece, The Cadbury Sisters. They came along for the show and ended up playing an impromptu 20 minute set.
2022 Update: Andy still performs alongside his band, the Mountaineers.
